150th anniversary of the birth of Slovenia’s greatest architect Joze Plecnik

Stories of Silver&Silk has been founded by designers from Thailand and Slovenia who share their appreciation for traditional techniques and the beauty of materials, in compliance with Plečnik’s design principles. Our special collection is inspired by his
great works to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jože Plečnik’s birth.

The work of the Slovenian architect, urban planner and designer Jože Plečnik (1872-1957), who worked i.a. in Vienna, Prague and Ljubljana, is marked by startling originality in the use of historical, regional and even provincial features, which he used in his original creations. Plečnik’s masterpieces, which use the classical form in a surprising and often unconventional way,contain a multitude of items, from fine details, monuments and architectural motifs to large urban features.
